Is it possible to connect 2 pcs to one printer one via parallel and the

Yes it is possible. Many people do that.

I've heard otherwise, though...but never tried, so i can't say.
What happens when both computers try to print at the same time?

No I wouldn't be printing to the printer at the same time - just want to
share a printer with a pc and IBook - both Mac & pc are linked via crossover
cable to share internet & files - but can't seem to get the printers to
share so this is the other way of doing it?

Depends on printer, it has to support autoswitching between interfaces.
