Corupt slideshow

Mike

I've been given two slide shows from a co-worker that needs to recover the
included data. The problem is that when you open them, PP2k3 starts to
convert them, sees that there are 33 slides, and then crashes.
Is there anyway to view these slides? I've tried using everything from
pp2k3 to powerpoint viewer 97 with no luck.

Thanks
Mike

No joy. When I tried to do it's steps it kept trying to convert it and then
crashed.
I looked at the properties of the file and it shows PowerPoint 4.0 with a
modified date of 1996.
Would that probally be the Windows flavor or Mac flavor of PP?

Thanks
Mike

That would be of the ancient flavor of PPT. According to the FAQ, that
version ran on Win 3.x, Win95, and the Mac. I am wondering if anything
recent will open it. Hmmm - one of the FAQ entries for the Mac says that the
current Mac version might open it. I know that you can save a V4
presentation from some versions of PPT, but I don't know if they open them.
