Corrupted Network?!?

I have an XP Pro w/SP2 box that has been running fine until the other day.
After starting up the PC I'm unable to get online even though my NIC is
showing a connection to my router. I've manually setup the IP confg but I'm
still unable to get out. When I try to run to IPCONFIG I get an error "An
internal error occurred. The request is not supported". Unable to query host
name.... When I try to ping FROM the box I get the following, "Unable to
contact IP Driver. Error code 2". However, when I ping the IP I gave this box
from another box on the network I get a reply.

I've attempted to repair the winsock but that hasn't helped and I've noticed
that DHCP & DNS client services are not running and I get an error when
attempting to start the services.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

It could be winsock issue. check this page for how to fix it.
