Corrupted 97 DB

Jetcomp and de-compile have not worked here

The database runs and functions fine (except for an index error) for the
users. Data entry works, saves and updates to the tables work also

1: Error on opening: "Operation Invalid without a Current Index"
Then I click ok, next error, "Unexpected error (3015) Jet Error
Click Ok, ignore the error and users work normally.

2: Open db and hold shift key down, to go into db window
Gives error message "Isn't an index in this table" each time I choose a
Different tab like forms or reports get the same error message!
Objects in the database are not Accessible, db is blank, no access to forms,
queries, tables etc...

3. From opening a copy that is 2 years old I know how many forms, tables and
queries are in the database

4. I’ve tried jetcomp.exe and decompile, nothing works
I can’t link a new database to the corrupted one

Any ideas on what to try next??

Sounds like this database is hosed. I'd import everything into a new blank
database and see if that fixes it. Do one object type at a time.

At times like this, nothing beats a good backup. In fact make a complete
backup of your database now and put it away for safe keeping.

Since you've tried Compact and Repair plus Jetcomp AND importing into
another database, you might have a real problem. Possibly a
decompile/recompile might help. There's information about that in the
resources listed below.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:
