Corrupt System32\config\system file problem

Have Windows XP. Got this error message on startup. Went into Recovery
console to repair the problem following directions of KB 307545 article. When
I tried to copy file to temp directory as directions prompted, I got message
saying I can not copy the file. Any suggestions as to how to continue repair
to registry and get XP to boot up again?

Steve, see if this is any help. Check the C:\Windows\Repair Folder for
copies of the Reg hive files. You should be able to
copy and paste them to the C:\Windows\System32\Config Folder.
If you have a Win2K CD you can use the Recovery Console from it. It has
much less restrictions.
