corrupt installer?

David

My installation of Norton programs (Antivirus 2003 pro &
Ghost 2003) somehow got buggered and I believe the
Windows Installer msi files are to blame. No matter what
I attempt, I cannot re-install these applications. In the
Event Viewer, I have a number of EventIDs 7034, "The
Windows Installer service terminated unexpectedly..." I
can uninstall and re-install other applications without
problem, it just seems to be NAV and Ghost. I have
scanned for viruses using Symantec's on-line scanning
ActiveX tool, but none were found. Any ideas how to fix
this such that I can get a fully-functioning NAV and
Ghost again?
Thanks, Dave.

Norton is to blame. DO NOT USE NORTON.
go to http://www.grisoft.com
get AVG version 6 free
It works, doesn't slow down the system and doesn't screw
up installing or uninstalling like the norton products.

Do they also have something similar to Ghost such that I can make periodic
"images" of my hard drive onto an external USB2 drive?
