Corrupt Excel Menu Bar

Dave Sosnow

Somehow my excel menu bar became corrupted. I now have
7 "Edit" menus, 2 Format menus, and 2 Tools menus in my
standard excel view. As a keyboard user (rather than a
mouse user), this is killing my productivity. Any ideas?

Help!

Try this. Right-click your menu bar, select Customize,
click the Toolbars tab, click the Reset button, click OK,
click Close. That should reset your menu to normal.

Mike,

Thanks for responding! I actually tried that, with no
results. It seems like you can re-set a toolbar, but not
the main Excel menu through that screen. I'm open to any
additional suggestions... May just go back to my sysadmin
and ask him to reinstall....

Hi Dave,

try renaming your .XLB file to .OLD : Excel will automatically create a new
one if it cant find the old one.
To find it search for *.XLB

Locate your .xlb file and either move it to somewhere else or rename it to
*.old. Then start Excel and a new .xlb file will be created. .xlb file is
your tool menu file and your any personal custom menus that you have created
in your old file will be lost. Hope this helps.

Jed
