Hello:

I am a user of Corel Suite 7 and Corel Suite 8. I have still been using
windows 98, however my computer just died and I will be building a new one
with XP Pro. Can anyone tell me if either of the above products will work ok
with XP Pro?

Thanks

They should, but try the Corel support site for FAQ and ask
their newsgroup. Try Google Groups to find your answer.
Corel is not MS.

Thanks I did look on Corel for support which they don't have anymore. I will
try the user groups see what I can find.

Was just hoping someone here was using it and cold help.

Also sorry about the from Microsoft. I let the system auto setup and that
what it did. Fixed now.

Since my recent system came with Corel WP 11, there's a possibility that there might be a
Windows XP Compatibility problem with software so much older. I would create a Restore
Point with System Restore (Start button/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System
Restore , and select the option to Create a Restore Point). Then I'd insert the CD, close
the Window if an autorun Install window opens. Then I'd click Start
button/Accessories/Program Compatibility Wizard, and select the option: I want to use the
program on the CD ROM drive, click NEXT button, and select Compatibility for Windows
98/ME. Then go on with the rest of the wizard. If the program doesn't run well in the
Windows 98/ME Compatibility Mode, uninstall using Control Panel/Add Remove Programs, and
try the same as above using Windows 95 Compatibility. If it won't run, then uninstall,
and do a System Restore using the Restore Point you created before beginning the install
to remove an orphaned registry entries. Using the Windows 95 Compatibility Mode, I have
gotten programs to run with Windows XP, which wouldn't even run using Windows 98. An
alternative to the above is creating the Restore Point, trying to install as you normally
would, and see if it runs. If it won't install, then try the above method. If it does
install, but won't run or brings up errors, right click the desktop shortcut, left click
Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and select the Compatibility Mode for the version
of Windows that you want to try.

Thanks everyone. I did find that 7 will not run and that 8 will with issues
from another user that saw this message. I also found out that my OEM copy
will qualify for me to purchase an upgrade version of the current version.

Just wanted to add this incase someone else reads this that wants to know.

Thanks again.
