Copying Produces Italics

David James

In PPT 2007 I consistently experience what appears to be a bug in the
program when copying text in one file and pasting it into another. All of
the pasted text takes on the italics attribute - both regular text and
WordArt.

Has this been seen or reported before?

As far as I know I have the latest updates.

I have had this problem, too, Dave, but I cannot reproduce it -- except on a
few specific files.

I can't figure out what the difference between those files and others that
don't exhibit the problem is, though. In fact, I have some files all based
on the same master, and some of the files exhibit the problem, while others
don't. Go figure that.

I think one other person has reported it on the newsgroup, but IIRC, they
didn't come back and respond to various questions.

David and Echo,

has any of the affected files been touched (opened and changed) on a system
with another version of PowerPoint or on a Mac? I've sometimes seen
formatting problems, if a presentation has been used on other systems.
Though they mostly were bullet point and indentation problems, I have never
seen italics.

Best regards,
Ute

Yes. I don't know about the Mac, but definitely in different versions of
PPT. In fact, after the client had the issue with combining the files in
2007, I had to pull them together in 2003 -- which didn't have the same
problem. No italics issues there....

I'll have to find out about the Mac specifically.

Yes - from PPT 2003, but not all of them had the problem. And none of them
have bullets.
