Copying From Flash Drive to Vista

Hi,

I have some old DOS shareware game programs that I'd
like to copy onto my Vista based laptop. The are on a flopy so I copyed
them to a flash drive (dont have a floppy drive on my fancy new computer!).

Two problems: the first is that when I go to "my computer" it's not obvious
how to copy files to the hard drive. Suggestions? Second is that when I try
to run the DOS program off the Flash drive, I get a messsage that this is a
16 bit program & gives me the choice to quit or ignore. When I choose ignore,
it was accurately named. Vista ignores me! Endless loop!

Thought to myself, why not get to DOS & try from there. Can't find DOS. None
of these issues are a problem on my XP based system.

I'd love advice on any or all of these questions.

Thanks, I guess the short answer is that it may be too much trouble to get
those old DOS games to work on Vista. I'd still like to know how to copy
files from a Flash drive to the hard drive (it not obvious how to do it) &
how to bring up DOS & work in that system. It's easily done in XP.

Not sure what your issue is... the flash drive should show up in Explorer
like any other drive... open it, copy and paste to hard drive. I'm not clear
on why this is "...easily done in XP," but not so in Vista... ???

To run from dos, do a start-run then type cmd in the box and you have it.
For the old games, however, that will not work. Download Dosbox then map to
where the games are and run them. I have an old copy of Battle Chess on CD
that did not work under Win2k or WinXp but works very well under Vista using
the Dosbox.

If you cannot copy the programs from your flash drive you have a deifferent
problem (Dosbox may not read it either). Of course you could always buy a
USB floppy drive.
