Copying favorites - why so long ?

Why it it that copying favorites FROM one folder/drive to another takes
so long ?
I don't do it often but when I do ( on various PC's), I'm copying a
file that's maybe 500kb - 1mb and I get messages like :
Copying ... 74 minutes remaining ...

Different PC's , drives etc. While that's copying I just copied a 5mb
file to the same usb drive - took a few seconds - now favorites shows 65
minutes left. So I'm gonna let it copy and I'm going to bed. If I
remember correctly, at the other end it usually goes pretty quickly -
something "special" about writing them to disk ???

Thanks for any input

Cymbal Man Freq.

Sounds like one drive slipped to sub-PIO mode.
You should check your event viewer for errors.
Maybe a scandisk & defrag of one or both drives is in order.

Hi Bobb. Have you tried using the 'Export' feature in
IE/File/Import-Export. That usually copies very quickly. Regards.
