Copying background pictures in Powerpoint 2003

I have several presentations where I have used a photo as a background
picture. When I copy this slide to a new presentation (using Copy &
Paste) the background link disappears leaving a white page and no
link. This didn't happen with the older version of Powerpoint. Iwas
able to copy and paste all the time without problems. Is there a fix
for this?

If I have a picture which is inserted (not background) into the slide
it copies the image across ok into the new presentation, so the
problem appears to be with background copying.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Michael

When you copy you should get a little clipboard in the bottom right hand
side of the slide - click on that and select 'keep source formatting'.
Alternatively use insert -> slide from file -> browse to file -> tick 'keep
source formatting' -> select slides -> insert.

Thanks Lucy for the tip.
