copying and running instalation programs takes FOREVER

What could windows possibly be doing that slows it down so much? First off,
my computer is an absolute beast. Core duo @ 3gz. 2 gigs of ram. DUAL 8800GTX
videos cards (in sli configuration). evga 680i motherboard. Super fast hard
drive.

I download metal combat frommicrosoft. The setup file is 1.5gb. It took 13
minutes between the time i clicked teh file and the time it actually popped
up the consent popup. To copy files from one place to another, takes many
time longer than it did on xp. Does anyone know whats going on so that i can
better troubleshoot things? WHat does windows have to do that makes it take
so long?

Welcome to the bloated world of Vista! I tried some copies and timed them
between XP and Vista, and Vista took about 20% longer to copy files.
I don't think the programmers at Micro$quish are into tight and efficent
code. Otherwise the OS would still ship on a CD !
