I have two computers which can see each other on a peer to peer netowrk and
they can use each others files, however the problem is, i was trying to drag
and drop a file & folder across my network places and the the following error
message popped up.

Error copying file or folder. Cannot copy filename access is denied. make
sure the disk is not write protected or full and that the file is not in use.

Help me please.

Stephen,

Do you have any problems, in general, copying files / folders from one computer
to the other? In this case, it sounds like you inadvertently "dropped" (let go
of the mouse button) your file & folder onto a My Network Places object that you
don't have access to.

What Operating System (name, version, Service Pack) is on each computer? Any
personal firewalls?

Both PCS are running WinXP Pro SP2 all the workgroup names are correct. As i
stated earlier we can share resources and open docs with no problem the only
problem is not able to cut and paste or drag and drop between the two pcs,
even if i set both C drives to full sharing it doesnt work.

Stephen,

OK, give me some examples how you "share resources and open docs". Does this
work well going both ways? How about when you try to copy - paste, does this
not work for pushing files and for pulling them? From both computers?

Provide ipconfig information for each computer, and we can try diagnosing the
problem.
Start - Run - "cmd" - Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window. Open Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is NOT checked!, open
file c:\ipconfig.txt, copy and paste entire contents into your next post.

Thank you for replying to my emails, i have fixed it myself. My NIS software
was blocking file sharing, which is strange that it didnt allow copying of
files but did allow me to open them from either PC.

NIS again. Huh. Strange indeed. Thank you for updating us, Stephen.
