Copy Hard Drive

Have 3 machines with xp-pro. can I use
one machine to make copies (on removable drives) for the other two?

xp-pro. I do alot of family pictures and wanted alot of backup. So I bought extra hard drives. I was thinking, they would be ready to install and run , until repairs could be made.

One copy of XP per machine. If you want to install it on two other machines
then you'll have to buy two licenses, one for each machine; or two more
copies of XP. Take your pick.

I have 3 copies, thats not the issue. Does xp take image of the machine at the time of activation? If that were true then, I can make the raw xp (on my old machine) install programs and then activate on the right machine. Itis that or a group license for $250.
