copy formula

how do I copy a formula to a range of cells below without using the drag
method. I'm wanting to do this by entering the range of cells to copy to.

Sorry, I'm not clear on this one.

Generally Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V does it.

Or the toolbar equivalents. Or the Edit menu commands. Or the right mouse
button commands.

Copy the top cell's formula, eg copy A2
Enter the range in the namebox, eg: A3:A100,
press ENTER to select the range
Right-click on the range > Paste

Alternatively,
select the entire range via the namebox, viz: A2:A100
Enter the top cell's formula (that for A2) into the formula bar
Press CTRL+ENTER to fill the entire range
