Copy contents of one hard disk to another

HI!

I have two hard disks on my PC ( set as master & slave). I want to transfer the contents(softwares, files, folders, songs movies etc) from the slave hard disk to the master hard disk (as it has adequate disk space) and then get rid of the slave hard disk. Both use windows 2000 o/s.

Can someone tell me the best and safest way of transferring the data without any damage to either of the hard disks?
