copy and paste outline view headings into new document

Hi,

I want to copy and paste the headings from the outline view into a new
document.

I only want the headings, not all the body text in between. The problem is,
when I select all the headings in outline view, and then paste them into a
new document, it pastes the entire document.

Is there a way to paste the headings only?

Sometimes the quickest way to transfer just headings is to create a
temporary TOC (without page numbers), unlink it, and Cut/Paste.

Or do what I do... just Save As (to rename it) a new document and delete what
you don't need.

Here's another solution (Word 2007 and up, I think) to select all the headings of one level, if Styles are used for the headings:
Right-click on the Style Name in the Quick Styles Gallery or the Styles Panel, then Select All XX Instance(s). Copy the selection and paste into another document.

It would be great if you could somehow combine the selection of multiple headings, but the TOC workaround can handle that.
