Copy and Paste Format in filtered rows

Why when copy and pasting formats in filtered row the pasting goes all
the way in the row.
The purpose of filtering is to used the filtered cells and leave the others
without
format.
Is there other way to do it ?

Short of sorting the data rather than filtering it, I believe not.

Thanks for the interest Sean, but probably I needed to explain myself better
and
apologies for it :
COLUMN A are days of the week ( Sunday to Saturday)
Every day is different color ( all mondays are orange, all tuesdays green...)
Now, the formatting will depend in COLUMN B and this is the formula on A1:
FORMULA IS:=A1="x" (format in red color)
If any cell in column B has an "x" then the correspondent A will be in RED.
To copy this format I filtered my data, sorted it by day of the week, lets say
Monday, and then "special paste" with format. When clearing the filter then
all days the week have the formula and also the color of Monday(orange) wich
is
NOT the expected result.

Sorry, formula in A is: formula is: =B1="x", format RED

Hi,

Rather confusing, are you saying that you have manually used a different
fill color for each day of the week and then applied a Condtional formatting
on top of that to turn column A red if there is an x in column B?

If so then I am not sure what all the filtering and sorting is all about.
To apply the conditional formatting to all cells in column A select A1:A100
and choose Format, Conditional Formatting and choose Formula is and enter
=B1="x" ...

what I
need to do, but from A1 to A1001 (not A1:a100) there are a lot of cell (in A
)that I do not want
to apply the formatting (=B="x" format to RED), That's the reason for all the
filtering and sorting mentioned, in order to be able to apply it to the cell
I want to..
or I filtered.

If you want to copy any data or formulas to filtered data only, you
want to use Go To .. Special ... Visible Cells Only. Filter your data,
highlight the columns which you want to copy to, use Visible Cells
Only, and then paste. If you are using this often, there is a button
for Visible Cells Only that you can add to your toolbar. Hope this
helps! I use it all the time.
