Cookies stopped working

In the past few days, I downloaded all the updates from Microsoft for XP.
Included were IE patches and critical update patches.

Now, my IE is not using the cookies. Sites that I would go to that require
me to log in, are asking me to log in each time I visit the site. Upon
reboot, I would need to relog into these sites again.

Another note is that I have a homepage that lists about 8 sites I visit all
the time. After you visit the site 1 time, it usually highlights a
different color. Now after upgrading, nothing is being highlighted a
different color and when I press the link to go to that site; I of course
have to also relog into it.

The not keeping a history of place I have been is bothersome since if I read
a message board of say 50 messages, I don't want to log in tomorrow and have
to read those same messages over; I would like to fix it so the history
portion is back to normal too.

I have tried resetting IE to the defaults, but that did not work either.

I have tried Dejanews to read articles that my be of help, but nothing so
far has worked.

I am running XP and IE, have all the updates, and now just need to figure
out why history and cookies are not working like they used to.

Any suggestions here or has anyone experienced this that can offer some help
on figuring out what is wrong?

Tim,
Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
[XP\2K]
Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder(s).
