Cookies not being remembered in IE & FF

T

The Apprentice

I thought it was a FF problem but IE is also not remembering my cookies. Cookies were
working fine and suddenly stopped being remembered for a week now.

XP Pro service pack 3

FF 3.0.5 - clean reinstall without any add-ons
IE 7.0.5730.13

AVG 8.5.375

I have tried all sort of forums without any replies so hoping I can get this problem fixed
here.

Many thanks for reading.

Be leery of advice from a SPAMMER. They have a different agenda than
their pretense of giving help. This one does know how to put his spam
in a signature as evidenced by his first posts but refuses to do so now
because he is scared of newsreaders that strip off signatures. He wants
to ensure to shove his spam in your face.

Since this is happening in 2 different web browsers, it is not an
add-ons issue (where an add-on has a privacy option to delete cookies
and other files upon exit from the web browser).

So what security programs did you install on your host (anti-virus,
anti-malware, HIPS, firewall, etc)? What cleanup utilities did you
install or run on your host since many of them include delete the TIF
folder, cookies, and other browser-related files or registry entries?

Since you mention that you have AVG installed I will suggest that you
disable the feature of scanning for tracking cookies optionally performed by
AVG resident shield in case it has been enabled. Also check the `Privacy'
tab in Internet Properties on the Tools menu in IE.
