cookies going to a different folder

For some reason my cookie files are now going to a Windows folder In Local
Disc instead of the original folder In Documents and Settings/name/cookies,
can anyone help me fix this or explain why this has happened. The Original
Folder is still there, but i dont know where to change the settings.

Who are you logging on as?

Cookies should be stored in %userprofile%\Cookies and have pointers (like
shortcuts) in
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

There is also a C:\Windows\Cookies folder.

And you probably have these folders as well.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Cookies
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Cookies
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Cookies
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Cookies
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Cookies

Cookies in this key...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
should point to *YOUR* Cookies folder.

If the Cookies folder has been moved, this key may point to another
location...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Special Paths\Cookies

The Cookies Folder is still there, but the cookies only appear in the
C:\Windows\Cookies folder not my user folder. I am logging on as myself, the
same as i always have. Is it possible it has something to do with downloading
Windows Defender Beta 2?

Anything is possible with Beta software.

What folder opens when you click Start, click Run, type: cookies and
click OK?

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Cookies should open.

Beta
[[A program that has not yet been introduced to the public but is being
released to a select few to test, examine and report problems they may
experience so that those errors can be fixed before the final release. This
type of product should never be purchased.

Often there are two types of beta testing, "open beta" and "closed beta".
Open beta refers to a type of beta testing that is open to any user. Closed
beta refers to a type of beta testing that is only available to a select few
individuals or to company individuals. ]]
