Converted to NTFS now PC is very sluggish

I recently converted my HD to NTFS so I could set it up for multiple users and restrict access to some files/folders. Now that I have made the conversion my PC is very sluggish and I still can't restrict files/folders. Anybody got any ideas?

Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View and uncheck
"Use Simple File Sharing" and click "Apply".

Thanks for your input but there is no "Use Simple File Sharing" option to uncheck (I'm using XP Home). Is that only an XP Pro option?

I am having the same problem. I formatted and converted
my partition to NTFS and my PC is EXTREMELY slow. I
tried the Disk cleanup and Check Disk also, but still
having the same problem.

NTFS is a little slower than FAT (but has much more
advantages than FAT), but it should not be extreme slow. I
would format and reinstall in NTFS if it is not too much
work for you.
