Dear All

I am trying to convert an Adobe Acrobat pdf file to a VB
form. I have 30 different pdf forms each with about 5-15
pages.

Since I doubt this is directly possible and to cut a long
story very short, I have purchased a utility that converts
an Adobe Acrobat pdf file to a Microsoft Word document or
HTML page. The Word document converter creates a perfect
duplicate. Therefore, my question is this:

(a) Is there any way that I can convert/copy the contents
of a Word document to Access, or does anyone know of a way
to convert a word document to VB (missing Access
altogether)? I have a converter that will convert an
Access form to VB.

I realise that this is maybe not the best group to post
this question but I will post it on the Word and VB
groups. Generally speaking, I do not cross-post!

Thanks again with any help on how to convert from pdf==>
vb form via any intermediary. I do not mind purchasing
converters because this is an important, time-consuming
project.

This is probably NOT possible, if I'm understanding you correctly. The
problem is that the term "form" is used in two very different ways in
different environments. A Form in a .pdf file, or in Word, is
typically a graphical image with lines, boxes, and text, designed to
be printed onto paper and filled in by hand. An Access Form has lines,
boxes, and text, but to a large extent they are incidental to the real
purpose of the Form - to serve as a programmatic link between a
keyboard and a database table.

Just having a box on the screen is not enough, in other words. To be
an Access Form it will need a Control Source, a Recordsource for the
form itself, and many other properties; the information to create
these properties almost certainly does not exist in either the .pdf
file or in Word.

If I'm misinterpreting please post back!

Thanks John for the comments.

I appreciate that there is a vast difference between a word document and a
database form. For my part I am only interested in the graphical elements
like box, line and text placement.

What I am looking for, if possible, is to copy/convert/transfer the word
layout to Access or VB. I have gone from pdf to Word and now I doubt you
could go from Word to VB so I thought I could copy to Access from Word and
then use my converter to convert from Access to VB.

My ideal path would be Adobe PDF =>> Word=>> Access=>> VB.

I am only interested about the graphical elements.

Thanks again.

John,

I'm beginning to think that taking a picture of the Word document may well
be the best option.

Thanks for your help.
