convert FAT to NTFS BSOD

J

Jason

Hello

I believe I'm doing this correct.... After I build a image I copy that image
to a HD that has been format as FAT, then when I take that HD to the target
pc, it buts up and the FBA runs, and acts like normal. I remember
correctly you need a FAT format to for the FBA. Anyway, my problem comes
when I run convert.exe to go from FAT to NTFS. Eevery reboot I get a BSOD
with the error as uumountable boot partition.

can anyone help?

Thanks

Morning Jason

Are you sure you need a Fat partition for FBA. I copy my images to an
ntfs parition and boot in to fba all the time and it works fine. no
BSOD. to have ntfs support just make sure you include it in target
designer ;-)

Hope this helps

Jason,

As Garvin points out, you do not need FAT for FBA, NTFS works fine.

As far as your BSOD, not sure, are you adding support for the NTFS file
system in you build?

Run 'bootprep.exe /dc' from utility - this will fix the boot sector to
run NT on fat.

Jason,

What BSOD number?

Also make sure that you have included ntfs component in TD.

Slobodan
