Convert doc to tif

I have been given a small project and was looking for some help.
I need to convert doc file to tif documents, now I can do this by using a
printer driver to do the change, but I need to be able to do this from the
command line so that it can be scripted. Other then the command line a method
to allow someone to enter the source file into a window and press a button to
create the file would work.

Has any one played with this type of project or have some resources where I
can look into on the topic. I have found that generally I have to convert to
pdf or ps then to tiff..

I am looking into running an external ghostscript command to do a convert
from pdf to tif inside a console app, and again if anyone has any links or
resources that have already done this it would help.

Thanks Glenn.

Just a suggestion, consider using Word COM Interop to print your .doc using
virtual driver which converts to tiff
