Controlling target page size, text size.

Just moved to Frontpage 20003 and I seem to have lost control of text size
in my internet explorer. Using Frontpage, how do I set the page size of
those pages going to my targets? Is the approved standard a 600x800 page?
Is there a potential conflict between setting text size on XP, Frontpage,
Internet explorer?

Hi John,

By target do you mean new page browser windows? If so then you have to use pop-up windows. If by targets you mean such things as
_blank (a new window) then you'll have do that from the page that is opened in the new browser window.

Design use to enforce some fixed size to a web page but with today browsers and CSS the standard is to use the entire browser window
and make the content conform to the size. For example, table-less design using CSS and Divs (layers).

The font used by XP, FrontPage, and the browser are independent of each other.

By target I meant the user who brings my web-page up o his PC. I have no
control over whether he's using 600x800, or 800 x 1000, or something else.
Should I assume he's using 600x800? I not familiar with CSS. Is this a
standard style setting? If I'm using 600x800 pixels, are all my web pages
using that size?

I would disagree w/ you comment that " the standard is to use the entire browser window"
- look at the major sites, which do no do that

With the growth of screen sizes & resolution, bigger is not better
- in fact most usability studies show that users have a difficult time reading any page that spans more than is on a 8-1/2" page
width (< 800 px) (eye strain & loss of place in text)
- and users w/ larger screens tend not to run the browser in full screen
(they are running other windows on the rest of their new found desktop screen space like messengers, entertainment, mail, etc)

Even w/ CSS and Divs, I would stick to 800x600 (design for 760 max) which would put your readable content in the user friendlier
range
