Controlling incoming calls while online

Can someone explain how to control incoming calls when I'm online. I seem to get a variety of three situations while I'm online. I have a modem connection, for whatever it's worth.

Sometimes I get a promt that shows me who is calling and gives me the option to pick up the phone and take the call. I have MSN 8, is that a function of that

Other times, people say my phone is busy when they call and I'm online

And still other times, I just get bumped offline and the phone starts ringing.

Is there a way to control these situations

If it's not MSN 8, it's an extra from either your ISP or phone company. It's
not part of XP. You'll have to contact wherever you got it from.

It is an MSN 8 option and when I was using it before going DSL it worked
fine so as Bruce said contact MSN or maybe try to reinstall MSN
