control userpasswords2?

Kenny

Using this I can now boot from cold or restart straight to desktop as user
"Kenny". I don't have any password set.
Problem is on resuming from Standby I get a screen with only Administrator
on it, Switch User doesn't do anything and I have to restart to get PC to
start as "Kenny".
How can I resolve this?

Is "kenny" listed in "users for this computer" in this control panel?
Add "Kenny" user name.

Is "Administrator" name locked text or can yuo change?
Type Kenny

Not using Control Panel, using "control userpasswords2" in the Run box.
Also tried it with TweakUI but same result.

I KNOW THAT!
I called window (ie User Accounts) that opens a control panel because
command has "CONTROL" in it. control panel was being used generically. sorry
for the confusion!

In Kenny <[email protected]> had this to say:

At the welcome window press CTRL + ALT + DEL and type in Kenny... That will
(I hope) get you to your account. However...

I think this is what you're trying to do... Don't use TweakUI...

Automatic Login :

At the appropriate screen replace "Administrator" with Kenny and leave your
password fields (you'd normally enter it twice if you had a password) and
click okay... That's the step that most people miss.

Have tried those steps a number of times with the same result.
It only happens on resuming from Standby, cold starting or Restart boots
straight to Desktop as "Kenny".
Looking at User Accounts in Control Panel "Kenny" is not listed as a user
but if I try to create an a/c named "Kenny" it tells me it already exists!
This started happening I believe after installation of the NET.Framework
after a full Format and re-install of XP.
Last time I installed this it also messed up my user a/c's then as well.

Please define "Standby"!
Are yuo saying computer is in Standby or is some Screensaver activating?
Is this desktop or laptop?

You might want to check on the following:
Run TweakUI.
Click on Logon.
Make sure there's a check mark in the box next to "Show Kenny
on Welcome Screen".

You can also go into Power Options and remove the check mark
from the Box next to "Prompt for password when computer resumes
from standby" on the Advanced page.

Good luck

Many thanks Nepatsfan, removing the tick from "Prompt for password" in Power
Options did the trick.
To Dixonian69, why do you bother to post answers when you have no idea what
you're talking about, that to me is trolling.
