Control Toolbox Textbox and Linked Cells

I started using the Control Toolbox in Excel to create a form. I wanted a
text box to link to a cell, trying to use an existing form. Strange things
have started to happen with the formulas in the linked cells. The values do
not change with what is entered in the cell. I'm in over my head I am afraid.

Is there a way to keep the integrity of the linked cell and use the Control
Toolbox Text Box in the front?

Thanks in advance,
Carol

You may want to share more details.

I put a textbox from the control toolbox toolbar on sheet1. I assigned the
linked cell to A1 of that same sheet.

I put
=len(a1)
in B1

I made typing changes to the textbox and A1 reflected exactly what I typed. And
B1 updated while I was typing.

I made changes to A1 and after I hit enter, B1 changed and so did the text in
the textbox.

One more guess...

If you put a formula in the linked cell, then maybe that's the problem. Once
you change the textbox, the value will overwrite that formula.

Yes, there are lots of formulas in the linked cells.
Is there some way to use text boxes that link to cells with formulas?
