Control Source limitations

Hi, To make this as quick as possible, I have a regularly updated info source
from which I need information. This information forms part of a table which
has other information added to it for our Department's purposes. The initial
table is not to be modified by our Department but is updated as to ownership
and addresses and the like of the various property listings by the external
source. In our course of work, there is a separate table created to record
various observations about a property. Each observation becomes a separate
record. I have a form to collate the initial info re: owners name, address
etc. from the initial table, as well as the subform for the other information
required by use of combo-boxes. The problem is that when I place the name of
the table column where I want the data to go as in Control source it won't go
there and the combo boxes don't drop down anymore.
I also get the #NAME? error. You probably can't help just on this, as the
info is rather general, but naturally I would be happy to more clearly define
the problem if I knew how. Thanks for any help you may provide.

Anytime you get #name you have lost a field or don't have that field properly
defined. Go to the table or query and see if information is missing. In a
query, look for EXPR
