CONTROL PANEL NOT RESPONDING

AFTER SP2 WAS INSTALLED, WHEN CONTROL PANEL IS OPENED AND A SELECTION MADE,
THE NEXT WINDOW SELECTION RESULTS IN "PROGRAM NOT RESPONDING". OCCURS ON 2
DIFFERENT BOOTABLE DRIVES ON MY NEWEST PC. 3RD PC UPGRADED TO SP2 OK.

You scan your system with latest versions of Adaware/Spybot,search and
Destroy/CWShredder.Run them in safe mode.

When I try to open my control panel...I get a message that windows has to
shutdown...can you help me?
