Control Panel -> Add or Remove Program?

Using WinXP + SP2
I use to have lots and lots of names of programs in : Control Panel -> Add
or Remove Program
For some reason many of them disappeared, and I have no way to uninstall
them.

Any idea where they went and why?

You might find entries for them in the registry under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

The "UninstallString" key in the right pane, contains the command to
uninstall a particular package

As I said, I had those pograms in the add/delate folder, but for some reason
not there any more.

If you have a "White Space" in Add/Remove (might have to scroll down to
see
some entries):
add or remove [whitespace fix]

this doc says Win98-WinNT, but can apply [long name in reg] to XP:

negative # in Uninstall [registry]:

Likely one applies to you. HTH

The sites I noted SHOW "some reason" why the programs don't show anymore.
They also tell you how to get them to show back up in the Add/Remove tool.
