I have 2 icons for Internet Options in my Control Panel. Both launch the
feature. Is there any way to remove one of them?

Open a run command and type in:
regedit.exe click [OK] and locate these two Keys, remove the extra Entry:
[-]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace \Internet Options

[-]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\InternetbOptions
HTH.

Unfortunately, the fix didn't work. There wasn't an entry for Control Panel
in the first key. There was in the second key, but no duplicate. We tried!

Hi Sean,
Try on the second Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\Flags =
inetcpl.cpl see if the value Data set to more than one(1) if it is set it
back to One (1)

Also you can see the *.CPL files in this location/path:
C:\Windows\System32 =
Or you can open your Local search engine and type in:
inetcpl.cpl if you get more than one delete the unwanted/extra entry.
HTH.

There may be two instances of inetcpl.cpl (present with different files names, or the same file in different locations). See this article http://windowsxp.mvps.org/cpicon.htm for more details.
