Context menu

R

Right Clicker

My office recently installed new (Dell) computers for a
number of users, myself included. Our LAN uses WINXP, and
both Netscape and IE browsers. I'm suddenly experiencing
a problem I've never encountered before.

When I right click inside an "html" document - either
online web page or locally stored doc - the context menu
takes about 7 seconds to appear. This delay has become
quite annoying.

No software or operating parameters have changed - OS,
browser, security, firewalls, programs, etc. - only the
hardware. Any help on getting my instant context menus
back??

Thanks.

Not sure what is causing this problem. But you can rebuild the HTML association using this method:

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:
HKEY CLASSES ROOT\htmlfile

Backup the key by exporting it. Delete the whole key 'htmlfile'. Open
Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab > Reset Web Settings.

If this does not help, post back the screenshot or what items appear in the context menu for a HTML file.
