Contact problems with PCI middleplane

Hi All,

i have mysterious problems with PCI cards connected to the motherboard
via a middleplane.
Sometimes when i reboot the PC one or more PCI cards (like RAID
controller) is not recognized by the system.

It looks like the card is properly inserted in the middleplane but
does not work. What I have found to bring the system back is to open
the PC and give the card a slight push with "NO" visible movement of
the card.

Could this be a contact problem? Humidity? Some other effect?

is the midplane removable?
The PCB of the plane maybe damaged or is loose in its connector.

are there capasitors on the PCB of the plane? Are they buldging or leaking?
