It's not letting me do that. Let's make sure we're talking about the same
thing. There are dropdown helpers that come up in programs like IE, where
when I am entering a value, it gives me options of how to finish them.
There, I know that if I scroll or select to an option, and rather than
selecting, I hit delete, it will disappear from the suggestion list. I have
done that.
Here, this is an Outlook specific type of dropdown (or in this case one
value, without others). It's the one in the Name field, which gives you
addresses you've used in the past. When I type more than one, it gives me a
dropdown, with email address and/or display name for some email addresses.
In the particular case I'm talking about, it's autofilling a name which I
used for one of my contacts (but it's not an address I have saved for him).
What I want is for Outlook to not try to fill in that name (because I want it
to start using the name I have in the contact record).
I tried your suggestion of deleting it as it came up, but that didn't do
anything (not delete it, nor get rid of the behavior). I backspaced on the
autofilled portion, but that didn't seem to do anything either.
Anything I am doing wrong, or any other suggestions?
Thx.
