contact management installation

I've been trying to install the Office 2003 contact management system for
months. I tried again yesterday, wasted 5 hours and back to where I began. I
have to wait until the final step to get the error message, then the
installation backs itself out, which is a real pain. My problem are:
unable to load SQL server ODBC driver resource DLL
Event ID (0) in source SQL Server ODBC driver support error

after trying for months to install SQL and searching the knowledge base, I
tried installing SQL 5 beta, which would not install until I installed .net,
so I re-installed it, went back to install SQL again, and it wouldn't install
until I uninstalled .net, then I went in a circle. I have tried everything,
and am about to buy ACT or something else. any suggestions

I hate saying this but you'd probably spend less time wiping the OS and
starting fresh. Especially after you've started putting beta software on it.
If you have a Virtual PC I suggest maybe going that route just to get
comfortable that it will install properly.

Event ID (0) in sql server most likely is generic and if you have to get it
to work on that machine without doing a fresh install, I would then suggest
you open a support incident so they can tell you what support logs and what
not to gather to help you troubleshoot the problem.

Otherwise you could spend a lot more time trying to get it to work.
