constantly receiving data from excel

Hi Everyone,

I am new to access. I am wondering if Access can be linked to Excel so that
the tables from Access can be updated constantly with a table in Excel? If
that is possible can you please show me? If not, is there a better way?

Thanks,

If you name the range in excel you can use it as a linked table. Question
is..are the excel files in a standard/same format?

No not yet. The excel file is not in the same format as the one in access
(i.e. the columns are not the same).

This is a growing excel file, data is constantly being added to it. Will
naming the range still work?

Why don't you just use Access as the data store?

Well we are inputting data into a software system to keep track of all our
documents and their revision status; then we pull information from that
system into an excel sheet continuously. For pdf file, the user can obtain it
from the system and for basic information, the user can obtain that from
excel. Now I would like to pull the data from excel sheet into ACCESS. Please
let me know what is the best way to do this?

My question, maybe I didn't explain it well enough, are the excel files
always the same columns, don't care if they currently match access fields.
Automation depends on some standardization, hence the question about the
excel files. If the format, look of excel file is always the same linking
and importing/updating access is easy.

My company is using a software to store all our documents. The data is query
into an excel spreadsheet that gets updated constantly. Can I link (or
something) that data into Access and use it for my database? I need to have
the data in Access to always be the same as the data in the excel sheet that
is coming from the initial software. Any help/suggestion?

Thanks.
