Constant crashing

Hi,
I am using Excel 2007 on Vista.
It crashes very often (every few minutes), especially if I edit a number
(normally as I drag the cursor over an existing number) or when using Solver.

It then goes into its "Trying to restore your information" routine for a
while.
Is anyone familiar with this problem?
Thanks
Roger

Using Excel 2007 on Vista. I run solver, then using F2 I try to edit the cell solver was changing, Excel crashes. This has been happening since about 4 December.

I can't identify any software updates that would have caused it to start happening. At some stage recently I reinstalled/repaired Office 2000, as Word 2000 was hanging due to Windows Live add-in. (I have Office 2000 installed except for Excel, where I use Excel 2007 instead.)

Uninstalling and reinstalling Excel and repairing the spreadsheet hasn't helped.
