Consistent spontaneous restarts

Jon Clark

After clicking the username to log in to WinXP, my startup
programs load up. After they are finished loading, my
computer restarts. Then, after the WinXP logo screen has
finished, for a split second there is a blue screen with
small white text at the top and a bunch of random
characters, like a critical error. On the third restart,
my system gives me the option to go to safe mode, so I do.
As the system is loading Windows, my computer restarts.

The first time it started, I was sent to 640x480 and 16
colors, but after updating my video card driver, it went
back to normal.

I did get a message, only once, that occured after
clicking a user to log into WinXp saying that a file in my
registry had to be restored from a log or backup, and that
the restoration was successful.

I have submitted two error logs to Microsoft.

I have no idea what the problem is.
