I have an old(ish) IBM think pad PII 266 (ONO) and wanted to pick up emails when out and about.

Bough a bluetooth dongle - tried to connect on GPRS > Failed
Tried via GSM > Failed
Via Infra red > Failed
Bought a PCMCIA Modem (landline) > Failed - all the same fault.

It will dial - connect - authenticate user / password then just hang there- after about a mere 1000b of data transfer thats it . wont open up a web page - nothing .

I have checked all the settings (many times) even reloaded windows ME

Anyone any ideas please ?

Thanks

I'm guessing when you say via Bluetooth dongle, you mean using your mobile phone?

I can't see any reason why it would not authenticate properly, unless you have the wrong drivers or are using your WAP user/pass instead of your ISP number?
