Connectivity Problem

I have this weird problem that I hope somebody hear can help with.

My laptop is a Compaq presario 1210US, I have recently formated the hard
drive and installed win 2000 pro, everything works except the built in
modem, network card and the wireless net work card. All my communication
devices don't work. Windows can see the devices but a driver can not be
loaded. No matter what drivers I try Windows says it is not the right
driver. When I plug in the wireless NIC, Windows recogizes it as a Netgear
MA401 which is correct, then it asks for the driver but rejects any driver I
try to load. I tried Win 98 with the same results. I installed chip set
drivers, I updated the BIOS but nothing seems to work. Keep in mind that
everything else works just fine only built in modem/Nic and the wireless.

Any help is appreciated.

You probably tried this, but have you downloaded the latest from the Compaq
website?
