connection status

my connection status is unavailable and i have checked
the box to show status on the taskbar, but no matter how
i search, icannont find how to see status of my
connection on or in any menu, it is 'greyed out" and
unavailable, this confuses me as i have clearly checked
the right boxes, rebooted and trouble shooted it from
every angle.
any advice? help? thank you!!

Hmm ok.. I have bluelight as my ISP. I also wanted the
connection status thingy to show. Heres how i got mine to
show.

Start.. Control Panel... Network Connections..
Right click on your connection.. Mine is Spinway so
would right click it.. properties.
Place a check in "show icon in notification area when
connected" then click OK.
After you connect.. You should see a icon with 2 monitors
showing your connection. Note: It doesnt show til you
connect and will be near your clock hope that helps
