Connection selections do not stick

Sudenly my machine no longer immediately recognizes my LAN (cable) connection
when I start Internet Explorer (ot any app). The Get Connected dialogue
comes up and the "Never dial a connection" has become unchecked and the
'Always dial" is now checked. (This is in Internet->Tools->Connections). I
have reset it several times (and clicked apply) but the settings always
revert back. Once I reset it it works for that session only. Any help
appreciated.

I ahve the same problem more or less.....and are interesstet if you have
found and answer....?
