connection options missing in my network place

I have just recently notice that my connection options in my network place
are missing.E.g : local area network,wireless..... thoese are missing now my
network place is completely empty, i was just wondering if the problem could
be caused by the automatic updates that i had recently and was not installed
successfully.the update is Microsoft SQL Server 2005.Do any one has a good
solution for me?
