Connecting XP to 98 in Outlook through microsoft mail

I have a nine computer lan using ethernet on a
workgroup. Except for one old and one new, the computers
have microsoft 98 and use Outlook for internal emails
using a postoffice set up with micorsoft mail. When
trying to set up my new computer which has XP I cannot
get to the postoffice with Outlook, and there is no
microsoft mail program. One of the other computers on
the lan also uses XP but I was able to get it on the
outlook email system by downloading microsoft mail to
that system. That has been a couple years ago an I now
cannot find the programs I need to place on the new
system. Can anyone Help?

This is an Office/Outlook issue, not an OS one. Best to post Outlook
questions in m.p.outlook for the most help.

What version of Outlook? Support for MS Mail was dropped w/OL2002 and won't
be back...but see this for an (unsupported) method:
