Having a weird problem that I haven't been able to find an answer to. I'm
running Windows XP SP1 and can RDP in to my machine with no problems - but
only after the machine has been logged into in person initially. I was just
connected to it and decided to reboot it with "shutdown -r" at the command
prompt. After waiting a few minutes for the machine to come back up, I
launch the RDP client, click connect and get the familiar login screen. I
enter my username and password and click OK. The "Loading your personal
settings" window displays for a very short time, then I see my desktop color
(wallpaper turned off through RDP) but no task bar. This blank screen is
displayed for maybe five seconds, then the connection just drops. No error
message. Have tried connecting from two different machines and get the same
behavior.
Has anybody else experienced this? Have any suggestions?
