connecting to Windows 2003 Server

Hello... I need help... pretty bad...

This windows 2000 server is only used for SQL. there are no DNS or active
directory components in it. With that said, we have a new Windows 2003
server that I would like to connect to. But whenever I try to join the
domain, it asks me for a user name and password with access to join the
domain, and after putting the administrator password (for the domain) it
gives me an error. This is what is says in the event log:

Attempt to update DNS Host Name of the computer object in Active Directory
failed. The updated value was 'vacasql.Cavanagh-Connor'. The following error
occurred:
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

In the win 2003 server, I enabled the vacasql computer, but it's still now
working.

Please help!!!

Thanks for the reply Mike... but I tried this a while ago... and I still got
the same "unknown user name or bad password"

Any other ideas please??? I am pretty much stuck. I've tried everything I
can think of.

Thanks!
