connecting to LAN and internet

I have an XP machine with two network interfaces: one built-in, and
another on a PCI slot.

One connection is for the office LAN, for file sharing, with IP on the
192.168.0.xx subnet.
The other is going to the modem/router for internet, on the 10.0.1.xx
subnet.
Both are set for manual IP addresses.

As long as one connection is disabled, the other works fine. But if I
try to enable both, they perform miserably or not at all.

Is there a way to "tell" XP which one is for internet, and which is for
LAN?

Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

how do you setup the default gateway? posting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

My friend helped me figure it out: I just deleted "default gateway" on
the LAN connection! Easy.
